Calls land on (323) 379-5251 · pricing locked July 23
Where things stand · Tue Aug 4
- 8 pitched · 4 cards landed · 0 scans · 0 calls · 0 responses. Julie's (Jul 27), barbershop (Aug 3), brow bar + Pearl (Aug 4). Car shop lands Aug 11, Roya's Aug 13, Walt's + George's Aug 14.
- Zero scans is normal at this size, not a bad sign. The benchmark is 20% scan rate, so 4 cards predicts under one scan. The number only becomes readable around 15-20 cards.
- The trigger you're waiting for: a scan or claim tap fires a push to your phone with the business name and their number on it. That is your cue to call them, ideally the same hour.
- Until a scan happens, nothing is blocked on you except the decision below: keep waiting, or start calling the four who already have cards.
Short term · this week
- 1. Decide: call the four who already have cards? The model we copied called everyone and only prioritized scanners. You are free Friday Aug 7.
- 2. Judge George's and Walt's (judge.webfriend.co) — both built, both waiting, neither pitched.
- 3. Aug 11, 13, 14: car shop, Roya's, then Walt's AND George's cards land. Phone can ring from those days.
- 4. If a push arrives: open this page, read the business box, call within the hour.
- 5. Julie's manual follow-up text (day 8 silent) — first test of the text channel, written by you, one message.
Long term · the Aug 8-23 window and after
- 1. Card volume is the lever. Six pitched is a rounding error against the ~4% card-to-close benchmark. Getting to 30-50 cards is what makes any number mean something.
- 2. Finish zip 90041 (67-business queue already compiled) and compile 90042.
- 3. Cheaper builds at volume — the OpenClaw cheap-builder bake-off, so 10 sites cost what 2 cost now.
- 4. Close the first client and learn what onboarding actually takes.
- 5. Then judge the design on conversion data instead of taste, and start the hero and headline A/B tests.
If you only read one box
- Get their name early."Who am I speaking with?" Their number is ALREADY on your screen — never ask for it. Instead, confirm the channel by GIVING something:"I'll text you the link at this number so you have it — this one takes texts, right?"
- The price, word for word:"The website's already built and it's free. Keeping it running — hosting, your web address, changes done same day — is $99 a month, cancel anytime."
- Anything you can't price instantly:"Great idea — let me write that up and I'll text you a flat price today."
- Before hanging up:"Do you prefer text or email for updates?"
They said YES
- Lock the channel:"Perfect. Let me grab your email and the best number to text you."
- Say the next step out loud:"I'll text you today to get you set up. The site stays live the whole time — nothing for you to do."
- The sweetener (included, say it):"And when you come on board, we reshape the site however you want — that's included." One revision round in the first 30 days.
- Then stop selling. Thank them, hang up. Don't add features, don't re-explain the price.
- After the call, tell Claude. The Stripe link goes out by text, pitch mode + claim bar come off the site, the pipeline gets logged. Same day.
The add-on menu (the only numbers to memorize)
- Everything else → the write-it-up line. Small changes (hours, prices, photos) are free, included, same day. Never hourly, never surprises.
- New clients: one "make it yours" pass free in the first 30 days (full revision round). The $250 redesign is for LATER redesigns, never for onboarding.
Answers that work
- "How much?" → the price line above. Then stop talking.
- "Contract?""No contract. Cancel anytime, no fees. If you ever leave, your domain goes with you free."
- "Why free?""It's how I introduce myself. If you like the work, we talk. If not, it cost you nothing."
- "Is this a scam?""Fair question. The site's live right now — judge the work. I'm local, this number always reaches me, nothing to sign today."
- "I have a web guy.""No problem. Keep the link — if you ever want it, it's yours."
- "Change something?""Text it to me and it's done today." (Write it down word for word.)
- "Take it down.""Of course — offline today. Sorry to bother you." (We actually do it.)
- "Will I be first on Google?""I don't promise rankings — nobody honest does. What you get is a real site that makes you look as good as your work."
Don't promise / don't say
- No ranking or SEO promises. No timeline you haven't checked.
- No vendor names. "I build them myself with my own tools."
- Old domains: "I can look into that" — never a promise on the spot.
Always before hanging up
- Their name + text number. One concrete next step, out loud. Then log the call.
Missed a call?
- Text back within the hour — a text beats a voicemail:"Hi, this is Tony with Web Friend — sorry I missed your call. Happy to talk whenever suits, or just text me here."
- Calling back:"Hi, it's Tony with Web Friend — I missed your call. You're calling about the website?"
- One-time setup: make sure the Google Voice voicemail greeting says "You've reached Tony at Web Friend — text this number and I'll get right back to you." A caller who hears a generic robot greeting assumes a wrong number.

- Site: georgesshoerepair.webfriend.co (pitch mode ON, site v2)
- ⭐ THE WARM OPENER — use this, it is the best one we have: a customer asked publicly on Yelp "What is going on with George? Shop hasn't been open for a month. I have a pair of shoes there. Hope he is ok." It has sat unanswered for a year, and he was open the whole time."Somebody on Yelp was worried you'd closed down. You've been open the whole time and there was no way for you to tell them. That's what this fixes."
- They'll recognize: his own portrait at the bench as the cover photo · his four steps (walk in, price first, cash up front, keep your ticket) · his real reviews.

🕹️ Walt's Bar
card v3 sent Tue Aug 4 · lands Fri Aug 14 · no email exists for them, card-only pitch

- Site: waltsbar.webfriend.co (pitch mode ON, site v2)
- Why this lands: their entire web presence is Instagram — Google's own website slot points there, so anyone searching lands on Yelp or TimeOut."You've got the Instagram, but when somebody Googles Walt's they land on Yelp. Now there's a place that's actually yours."
- They'll recognize: their neon at night as the hero · the three lives of the building (1928 plumbing shop, Vans Store #14, Walt's) · their own menu board prices.
- At first contact: email · best number · the 11 AM–2 AM window sign vs the noon hours we published · are the menu prices still current · waltsbar.com looks like a parked page — ask, never assert.
🪡 Roya's Bridal Alterations
card v2 sent Tue Aug 4 · lands Wed Aug 13 · no email exists for her, card-only pitch
- Owner: ROYA — first name only, surname NOT FOUND anywhere, never guess one. She works alone.
- Facts: 4511 Eagle Rock Blvd ⚠️ Lovely Bride's public page says 4523 — ask which is right · (720) 496-7566 (her mobile; texts unproven) · by appointment · three fittings per dress · 5.0 × 94 on Yelp
- Site: royasbridal.webfriend.co (pitch mode ON, site v2)

- They'll recognize: herself pinning a hem in the hero · her three-fittings ritual on its own card · her real reviews.

- Owner: PONG JAMPRAVIT (say "Pong") · son Pete works with him. ⚠️ Wendell and Rod are independent mechanics renting bays in the same building — NOT staff, never imply a team.
- Facts: 2442 Colorado Blvd (driveway on College View Ave — white sign, red arrow) · (323) 255-0173 ⚠️ the number PAINTED ON THEIR WALL — Yelp and Bing list two OTHER numbers. Ask: "what's the best number for you?" · Mon–Sat 8–6, Sun closed
- Site: eaglerockimport.webfriend.co (pitch mode ON, site v3)
- Why this lands: no website, so googling them lands on Yelp — where two customer questions sat unanswered for 2 and 3 years, and Yelp's AI now answers for them with a number that is not the one on their wall."When people google you, a robot answers for you — and it gives out the wrong phone number. Your new site answers with the number painted on your own wall."
- They'll recognize: their painted wall as the hero · their painted red in the buttons · the honest-mechanic reputation ("we'll show you the pads") their reviews rave about.
- At first contact: best phone number (the three-numbers question) · email address · does "PJR" still matter to him (old second name).
